Terms of Service

1. What RowBot Does

RowBot connects to your Concept2 Logbook account and, when you log a qualifying activity (rowing, skiing, biking, and other supported workout types), automatically posts a generated result card to a Discord server you've configured. Server managers can install RowBot to their Discord server and designate a channel for results to post to.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use RowBot, matching Discord's own minimum age requirement — RowBot requires a Discord account to sign in, so you must also meet Discord's eligibility requirements and comply with Discord's Terms of Service. If you are located in a jurisdiction with a higher minimum age of consent for using online services, you must meet that higher threshold instead.

3. Account Registration

RowBot does not use passwords. You sign in exclusively through Discord OAuth — we never see or store your Discord password. To post your results, you separately connect your Concept2 Logbook account through Concept2's own OAuth login. You are responsible for maintaining control of your Discord and Concept2 accounts; activity that occurs through an authenticated session is your responsibility.

4. Third-Party Services

RowBot is built on top of Discord and Concept2's Logbook platform and would not function without them. Your use of those platforms through RowBot is also governed by their own terms:

We don't control either platform and aren't responsible for their availability, changes to their APIs, or their handling of your data outside of what RowBot itself does (see our Privacy Policy). If Discord or Concept2 change or discontinue the APIs RowBot depends on, some or all functionality may stop working until we can adapt.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use RowBot to violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, or Concept2's terms
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account, data, or connected services
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including attempting to overwhelm it with automated requests
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or use the Service to build a competing product
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Fees

RowBot is currently free to use. We reserve the right to introduce paid features, subscriptions, or usage limits in the future. If we do, we will provide reasonable notice before any change that would require payment for functionality you're already using — existing free functionality won't silently start requiring payment without warning.

7. Your Data

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how to delete your account and associated data. It's incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Termination

You may stop using RowBot at any time and delete your account from your profile page, which permanently removes your account and associated data. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we believe you've violated these Terms or if continued access poses a risk to the Service or other users.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT RESULTS POSTED TO DISCORD WILL ALWAYS BE ACCURATE OR TIMELY.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, softsrv WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE EXTENT ANY LIABILITY IS NOT VALIDLY DISCLAIMED, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold softsrv harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above; continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
